“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”  Isaiah 9:6

As we wake on this Christmas morning and prepare to open presents and spend the day with family, let us take a moment to focus on our precious Lord.    It has become a cliché, but Jesus really is the reason for the season.  May we never lose sight of that.  I love this old song by Larnelle Harris.  I encourage you to look it up on You Tube and sing along.

“More Than Wonderful”

He promised us that He would be a counselorA Mighty God and the Prince of PeaceHe promised us that He would be a FatherAnd that He would love us with a love that would not cease.

Well, I tried Him, and I found His promises are trueHe's everything He said that He would be.The finest words I know could not begin to tellJust what Jesus really means to me.

For He's more wonderful than my mind can conceiveHe's more wonderful than my heart can believeHe goes beyond my highest hopes and fondest dreams. He's everything that my soul ever longed forEverything He's promised and so much moreMore than amazing, more than marvelousMore than miraculous could ever beHe's more than wonderful, that's what Jesus is to me.

I stand amazed when I think the King of gloryShould come to dwell within the heart of manI marvel just to know He really loves meWhen I think of who He is, and who I am.

For He's more wonderful than my mind can conceiveHe's more wonderful than my heart can believeHe goes beyond my highest hopes and fondest dreams. He's everything that my soul ever longed forEverything He's promised and so much moreMore than amazing, more than marvelous,More than miraculous could ever beHe's more than wonderful, that's what Jesus is to me.
