Be Alert

“At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the Earth to the ends of Heaven.  Now learn this lesson from the fig tree:  As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.  Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.”  Mark 13:26-27 NIV

There have always been people who have believed they had figured out the date that Jesus would return and rapture His church beginning the period of tribulation spoken of in Revelation.  Up until this time they have been wrong.  Jesus Himself tells us that no one knows the day and the hour.  But the verse above tells us that we can know the season.  As we see world events lining up and as prophecies are fulfilled, we can see the day approaching.  Make no mistake, there will come a day when Jesus will appear in the sky.  On that day, those of us who know Him, who are called by His Name will go to be with Him.  Those who have rejected Him will perish.  We don’t need to worry about when it will happen.  We just need to make sure we are ready now.  Are you ready?  What about those around you?  Are you afraid they might think you are a religious fanatic if you tell them about Jesus?  What if it is today?
