Every Knee Shall Bow

“All the ends of the Earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before Him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations.”  Psalm 22:27-28 NIV

This passage reminds me of the passage in Philippians 2:9-11.  “Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on Earth and under the Earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (NIV) If we listen to the news about wars and riots, corrupt politicians and evil dictators, greedy businessmen and economic doom, it is easy to forget that God is in control.  We may not understand His ways or His timing.  We may not understand why He lets our leaders get away with what they do and why He does not intervene when we think He should.  But we can be assured that He is in control.  He is watching and aware of everything happening in our country and the countries throughout the world.  He is in every boardroom, in every meeting, on every battlefield and is intimately aware of the events that alter the course of human history.  He is Lord and He rules over the nations whether we acknowledge it or not.  One day, probably in the not-too-distant future, all the Earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and every knee will bow, and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord of all.  Spend some time today praying for our nation and its leaders.
