Leviticus 5-6

Psalm 25:8-15

Proverbs 6:6-8

Mark 2

Bring Them To Jesus

“Then they came to Him bringing a paralytic, carried by four men. Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above where He was. And when they had broken through, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying.” Mark 2:3-4

These four men give us a beautiful picture of true friendship. They brought their friend who was paralyzed to Jesus because they heard that Jesus could heal him. When they arrived at the house where Jesus is teaching, there were so many people that they couldn’t even get in the door. Instead of just leaving and coming back another day, they climbed on the roof, lifted the man on the stretcher onto the roof, broke through the ceiling and lowered the man down in front of Jesus. Jesus healed the man and he walked out in front of everyone. They were all astounded and gave glory to God. These men did whatever it took to bring their friend to Jesus. They couldn’t help him, but they knew the One who could. So often, we are in a similar situation. We have friends who bring their concerns to us, but we are powerless to help them. Fortunately, we know the One who can. Whether it is by physically bringing them to church, or bringing them before the Lord in prayer we have access to the only One who can make a difference.
