As we start a new year I am starting a new project. As most of you know, the last several years have been very busy with a new grandbaby. I keep Hadley several days a week during the school year, while her mother teaches. I lead a Bible study weekly and Brian and I lead a Sunday School class at our church. I have done some writing projects. In 2022, I wrote a Bible study on the women of the Bible and this past year my Bible study group went through the Bible a book a week. We will finish in the next few weeks. It has been great to get an overview of the Bible as a whole. For a few years now I have been wanting to write a second volume to Journey Through the Bible but it has just not been the right time. I have decided that now is the time to begin this new endeavor. I plan to do this devotional in the same way I did it the first time.

I am convinced that the best way to read through the Bible is following the pattern of a passage in the Old Testament, a passage in Psalms, a passage in Proverbs and a passage in the New Testament every day. If you follow the daily readings, you will read through the Bible in a year and it takes about 20 minutes a day. I have read through the Bible now for 9 years and every year I am learning more and getting a deeper understanding of the Bible as one story of God's redemptive plan for man. The reading plan will remain the same but I will be writing a new devotion each day using a different passage from the readings. It will be available on this blog every day and on my facebook devotional page. At the end of the year, hopefully I will publish volume 2 in book form. I hope all of you will join me this year in reading through the Bible again this coming year. I believe this is something God wants me to do, but I would ask for your prayers as I approach this new project that God would give me the time and ability to complete it. It is a very big endeavor.
